We begin by taking an Optomap digital retinal image of each eye, followed by a visual fields examination, followed by taking a 3D OCT scan of each eye. The results of which will be discussed at each stage.
The optometrist will then take you through to another room where he will ask you a few questions about your occupation, lifestyle, eye health, general health, family history, and then carry out a few tests to determine whether there is a need for spectacles and/or contact lenses.
He will then examine the front window of your eye, the cornea, alongside other anterior structures of your eye.
Your consultation will be completed by providing a precise summary of your eyecare needs. Advice will be provided on suitable lens choices based on your lifestyle and nutritional advice may be given that may help you to maintain good sight and health.
We will be happy to answer any questions or concerns throughout the consultation, so please feel free to ask.
